From Russia with love

I see it as my duty to share it with you guys whenever I "discover" something beautiful. That's why I'm blogging Russian churches today. I saw the first one on a TV program the other day, and was totally fascinated. Had it on my mind for a couple of days, until I just had to google it. Then I also found the white one. So now I've been googleing Russian churches this Friday evening. I'm not surprised that they have incredible churches over there, but still...I'm just very impressed by these. The first one is from Kizji, an island in the Lake Onega. It's made of wood, and it really reminds me of traditional Norwegian architecture, except of the domes which is very excotic, and very Russian in my eyes. The two last ones are from the district of Vytegra.
I must go to Russia one day. It's definitly on my list of places to go.

Lust

I know you are wondering.. Who made these amazing pieces of art?
These pretty things are scarfs and they are designed by the talented illustrator Artaksiniya. She also has a blog, wich is full of fun illustrations. To get how cool these scarfs really are you have to check out the details, there's intricate illustrations that's been kaleidoscoped. The scarfs are actually huge, and made of silky fabrics.

Just got this soft, sparkly thing in the mail. Love days when stuff I've ordered on nightimes (insomnia) comes and suprises me. This one is from ebay, and I got it cheap. Very happy no one else wanted it, hehe.. I'm loosing too many bidding wars on ebay lately, vintage isn't always cheap that's for sure. But when I opened my laptop this morning I got a new surprise, I won a bidding war tonight while I was sleeping. Yeah! So now I'm looking forward to another sparkly thing coming. I must have been lucky cause it ended up exactly at my highest bid, if any of the others would have bid a dollar more I would have lost it.
That's what makes this ebay ting so fun right? The excitement;)
Still so surprised about the quality on todays sweater, it's silk and angora and sooo soft! Can't wait to wear it, I'll show you soon:)

At the moment, this song is stuck on my mind. It's so 90's.. I was such a Janet fan back then, and taking out her old records I think I still am. This is one of her best songs I think.

Madonna 1986

The best Madonna, if you ask me. With strong competition from the "Like a prayer Madonna". Stylewise that is.
But the best songs also came at this time. Like "Papa don't preach" and "Open your heart". Well, I have other favourites too, but I think she was pretty much at the top of her game at this time. She was also married to Sean Penn who's a total hottie. Wild couple. 80's in a nutshell. Love it!

Waiting so patiently..

Very glad that Topshop is finally getting ready to open a store in Oslo and all...but could they take any longer?? I need to stop using all my money at H&M and Zara, come on Topshop! We are ready!! :D

So while I'm waiting, might as well plan what to buy..hehe. Here's my favourites.

True colours

Ok, so I like it dark. Black and grey are fall favourites with me.
Have you noticed how cold it is outside? At leat it is here in Oslo. I've found out that jeans isn't warm enough, so I'm going for wool tights and wool anything on top. It's very comfy and most important pretty warm.

I've recovered from the weekend, so today I'm planning to get some work done.
I'm doing illustrations for a new and exciting website, yay!:) I'll keep you posted and give you the link when it is up and running.

Paris dreaming

I'm cleaning my desk, and did (not very suprisingly) get distracted pretty much right away. Found these cards in the drawer and just look how pretty they are. Bought them when I was in Paris last year, and had just forgotten about them.
They're total Paris cliché's, but I like them.

Partynight

Had such a great night yesterday. So great actually that I'm still on the sofa today... Let's just say there were Red Wine. And maybe some Rum. That's what happens when I party with the girls, we have too much fun. First my friend Cecilie had us over for amazing food, it was her birthday and everything. Then we went out to this kinda funky, totally unpretentious place. When we were sitting at the tables by a window, suddenly a couple of butts showed up. No, I'm not kidding. Some guys were outside, and they totally mooned us. Way to go... A little later the same guys came up to us and tried to hit on a couple of my friends. Yeah, we were so impressed. Haha. Butts pressed up against glass.. always a winner.

What to wear?

Confession: Sometimes I'm messy..
It's weird, sometimes I'm a neatfrek, and I always need to keep the apartment clean. But, I obviously mess a lot too.. I just realised my messiness, you see. Don't know why I feel the need to never put away jewelry, and I always just throw tags from new clothes wherever I'm at when I put it on (probably beacause I always have too little time when I'm going somewhere). Anything I read in bed gets thrown on there too. Don't feel embarressed to show you this though, cause I'm pretty sure I'm not the only girl who has has stuff laying around.. Right?

Anyway, I was thinking I should find some earrings or something, cause I'm going to a party tonight. Walked into the room and kinda gave up, if this is the top of the dresser then you can imagine how it looks in the drawers. Got a new dress to wear though, thats a good thing;) I'll show you pictures of course.
Right now, I gotta go. Need to get ready, and wrap a gift, eat and whatever I do that always takes so much time;)

These are from "Høstutstillingen", the annual art exhibition in Oslo. I just love to see art.
It makes me calm, inspired and also a bit disturbed, all at once..
These were my most favourite pieces. Pretty random. There were lots of amazing art this year, but I really just felt these..you know?
That's the kind of art that gives me the most, art that I can feel. I guess that's why I adore expressionism. There's a lot of modern art that I don't really understand, but smetimes you just get it right away.
