R.I.P. Alexander McQueen. He is leaving an empty space that can never be filled. The world has lost a genius. A sad, sad day I hope his soul finds peace. <3>
I wish I was in Copenhagen right now.. Denmark has so many great designers, and also Copenhagen is one of my favourite cities. Copenhagen and Paris..love. Anyway, today I'm reading all the blogs to get updates from Copenhagen Fashion Week, and I love what I've seen from Louise Amstrup. Especially the aquarelle-ish printed silk, so beautiful. Can't wait to see the whole collection. These pictures are from Anywho and Lilisfashion. Click on the pics to see the original posts.
Gabrielle Coco Chanel. I admire her so much. Even more than Madonna, Oprah and I'm almost tempted to say my own mother, but I'm not that stupid. Mom is best of course. Coco has a strong second place. She came from nothing, and she was so strong.. God.. I need to buy the Coco Avant Chanel movie today. And I need to watch it alone with no bf, so that I can really cry;) If you haven't seen it yet, you must.
There's no limits to what Viktor & Rolf can do with some tulle.. This is just ridiculous in the best possible way. I've been waiting to see these dresses in an editorial, and here they are in Dazed & Confused, shot by Josh Olins.
After seeing the movie I've been totally coco fanatic! Haha.. Good thing I have this great book of costume history. Found these pictures of Gabrielles designs. Above you see the cardigan set, and the LBD (1928). She did it first. Also adore the fine details on the nude silk dress. Beauty never goes out of style, huh? Can you imagine how cool it would be to own a original piece of clothing by Gabrielle Chanel?
This girl sure has learned her knitting! She's such a creative and unique designer, and her work always amazes me. These pics are from her current collection called "Pool position". See more at her site.
