Lonely girl

Wet pavemet. Blurry lights.
Everyone is lonely.
Quiet night.

Windows are dark.
All cars move by.
Mute are the sounds.
Where is the life?

Old jewelry

Oh yeah. Totally going through my old jewelry.
For me this is no time to go and buy anything glam, but hey, reusing is fun. When a girl is desperate she needs to do the best with what she's got, right?I did find a lot of crap when going through old stuff, but I did find a few treasures too.All of these are things I've got as gifts when I was a kid or teenager. Memories make them look even better.
It's time to bring them back into the light.

Fashion illustration, back in the day

Photobucket

Photobucket

These illustrations were made by Bernard Blossac in 1949. Aren't they beautiful?
They are both of evening gowns by the designer Jacques Fath.
The House of Fath opened in 1937 and survived throughout the war. With Dior and Balenciaga , Fath was a major figure in couture the late 1940s and early 1950s. He died at the age of only 42.
Fath was known for his occasion gowns, often featuring large bows and asymmetrical drapery.
Fashion illustration was very big at that time, they often decorated the covers of magazines like Vogue and Harper's Bazaar. Blossac and Fath complemented each other's work. Blossac had the perfect line for Fath's dynamic designs.

I just learned this today. Haha.. Been feeling pretty ill, so I've been stayng home all day, eating as much sushi and candy as possible, and looking at one of my favourite books "100 years of fashion illustration". There are so many amazing illustrators today, but I think it's even more interesting to look at the drawings from back in the day. The artists had such alive styles in the 40s and 50s, and when I look at the illustrations from the 20s I'm just amazad how modern they are, even today.

Blackness

Photobucket

Photobucket

The kind of black that I like.
Fall is in the air, and I can't wait.
Summer is so wonderful, but when fall comes it feels like magic. This summer I've been doing all sorts of floral, hippie, feminine things, thought I'd really make it feel like summer, the way summer felt when I was little.
But now.. Now I just can't wait to get al that blackness going. Ever since I saw the collections for fall, you know the mysterious gothic inspired, very very black collections (like McQeen, Pugh and Gaultier) I've been looking forward to this upcoming fall and winter.
I'm so ready for a black season now.
Lace, velvet, leather, glass or whatever.. Bring the black!

New header

Photobucket

About time I got me a new header, don't you think?
After years of not having any drawing energy what so ever, I finally feel like drawing again. And painting. And whatever makes the creative part of me satisfied. I'm a bit afriad to jinx it by saying this, but my long lost drawing mojo might have returned..
It feel so good to finally be able to sink into that deep concentration again. I just love that, being alone, listening to music and draw for hours without even realising time flys.

Me through plastic

Hmm.. What can I say? We took these a few days ago, and I think the dirty window is quite allright. (Choosing to think that the dark spot in the corner isn't birdcrap..)

Dream outfit: at least I'll get the skirt..

Photobucket

Skirt from Topshop, lace body from Kova & T, leather jacket from Rick Owens, ring from kara by Kara Ross, bangeles from Iosseliani, handcuff bracelet from Max & Chloe, boots from Proenza Schouler and clutch from Celine.

I'm waiting for this x-ray skirt to arrive, and I must say I'm not impressed with the delivery time..
I'm on a pretty strict shopping diet these days, no sugar or fat, only the proteins that I really need..and off course a few vitamins. Haha.. It's so tough, but it will be worth it, cause I'm saving for a trip. It's the sort of trip that might be life changing, at least it will be interesting. And very expensive..God help me. Good thing that I'm already a proffesional when it comes to cheap shopping.
Since Topshop decided to finally ship to Norway I thought I'd give myself a little treat. Went for this skirt, and just hope it will fit me right. I don't own a Rick Owens jacket or even Proenza Schouler boots, but this is how I wear the skirt in my dreams. I'm sure I can find something from my own tired old rags to go with it too.

I always look for motives. Always try to see. Inspiration, anything.
We were on our way somewhere and I saw these white balls, they've always fascinated me. (I'm easily fascinated.)
So off course we had to get out of the car..
Bring the camera Rob!

Oslo Fashion Week: Tina H

On Friday I saw Tina H's show. She is such a fabulous designer, and I really adore her work.
The collection was called "The little fairy disco princess", which tells it all. Sweet, feminine, soft, sparkly and fun. I'm craving the glitter jackets, and loved the final disco dress. Such a cool show. Did I mention that the models were dancing? Yeah, it was fun. Tina H rocks!

Also attended Moods of Norway, if you know Norwegian you can read my article on that show at this site.

Oslo Fashion Week: Leila Hafzi

Midtstill
Yesterday I went to see the Leila Hafzi show at Oslo Fashion Week. She is known for her floaty feminine dresses, and she often uses meters and meters of silk chiffon. Her collection for summer 2010 was no different, and it was off course very pretty and lovely. A fashion revolution is was not, it didn't feel very new. But that said, it was very dreamy and beautiful. The arena was packed with celebrities and I'm sure we'll see some of them wearing tropical sorbet coloured creations by Leila Hafzi next summer.

PS. Excuse my poor quality photos.. I was practically the last person in, and didn't get good seating. Not very skilled with the camera either, but hey a bit of zooming, and I hope you get the picture;)
